Fr. Nathan Reesman
Spiritual Director
“Priests need to make community a priority, especially today. I hope we continue to get together and hold each other up because you cannot do this alone.” This quote is from Fr. Nathan in a recent
Catholic Herald article.

Fr. Nate’s strong convictions and belief in a community of believers, led us to ask him to serve as the Relevant Radio Catholic Business Association Spiritual Director.

Fr. Nathan is currently Associate Pastor for St. Frances Cabrini and Holy Angels Parishes, West Bend, Wisconsin.

January 2010 Networking Meeting
...Community Warehouse in Milwaukee
Community Warehouse in Milwaukee was the venue for the
Relevant Radio Catholic Business Association meeting in January. What a blessing it was to have a wonderful turn-out and a powerful meeting! Everyone enjoyed a hearty breakfast and learned of the divinely inspired mission of Community Warehouse, a home improvement warehouse with super-discounted products available for the under-served neighborhoods of
(primarily) downtown Milwaukee. A tour of the facility was provided and those in attendance learned of the many miracles that have culminated into the benevolent program it is today!

Attention was then drawn to featured speaker MJ Groark, a Capuchin Franciscan Postulant as he told his powerful story of conversion that deeply touched

MJ Groark
everyone present. What a profound message for business professionals to hear of someone who has gone from success in the business world, to the gates of hell...literally "Riches to Rags"...and has been delivered from those gates and is now serving the poor, the marginalized and the imprisoned. If you would like to hear MJ’s message, his presentation was recorded and can be found on YouTube.com just search “mjgroark” and you’ll se two videos- CBA MTG PT 1, and PT 2.

As we turn our sights to February, please mark your calendars for Thursday, February 18th. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 6:30 a.m. Networking will begin at 7:00 a.m., followed by a presentation at 8:00am. The meeting will be held at St. Dominic's Church in Brookfield. The hosting and program duties are being handled by Wisconsin Youth Rosary Evangelization, known as WYRE. They have produced a great video for all the world to see…but first they will share it with the Relevant Radio Catholic Business Association!

We are very grateful to our sponsor for this meeting, our friends at Wisconsin Right to Life. If you are able to join us, please RSVP by clicking this link… mgrall@relevantradio.com and let me know that you will attend, as well as the names of any guests that will be joining you. December 2009 Networking Meeting
...at Aquinas Academy in Menomonee Falls
Aquinas Academy in Menomonee Falls was the venue for the
Relevant Radio Catholic Business Association meeting in December. A very good sized group gathered to hear Miss Peggy Duemling present a very thoughtful, uplifting talk. Nearly everyone agreed that she could have talked well beyond the allotted time and they would have loved it!

We are grateful, too, for the sponsorship of the Holy Hill Gift Shop. Steve Ptak, manager, gave some very useful ideas for gifts that reflect the reason for the season.

We now turn our sights to January and our planned meeting at Community Warehouse. This great place is a home improvement warehouse with super-discounted products available for the under-served

neighborhoods of (primarily) downtown Milwaukee.

Our speaker for the January meeting is a young man who has managed retail businesses in the past, but now is a postulant for the Capuchin Franciscans, MJ Groark. MJ will be sharing a powerful conversion story that you truly should hear.

November 2009 Networking Meeting
...at Sacred Heart School of Theology
The November meeting of the Relevant Radio Catholic Business Association was informative and spiritually uplifting. Mass in the Chapel at Sacred Heart School of Theology was attended by about 50 members of the CBA, along with the seminarians and 4 concelebrating priests with Father Tom Knoebel. This was followed by a light breakfast and wonderful talk by Tony Daviano, one of the 94 seminarians studying at Sacred Heart.
December’s meeting should be every bit as uplifting as we will be honored to hear a talk by Miss Peggy Deumling. Having worked side-by-side with Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta, Miss Deumling will share many lovely insights into this saint who lived among us. We are grateful for our friends at Aquinas Academy in Menomonee Falls for hosting the December meeting. Social time begins at 5pm with the speakers starting at  6 pm. Our sponsorship for this meeting is generously

October 2009 Networking Meeting
...at Town Bank in Elm Grove
The Relevant Radio Catholic Business Association enjoyed yet another terrific meeting October 15th at Town Bank in Elm Grove. The turnout was another very big crowd of about 80 business people in the Milwaukee metro area who were treated to an absolutely riveting talk by Father Eric Nielsen of St. Paul’s Catholic University Center in Madison. Father Eric shared some
astounding conversion stories and some beautiful “successes” at the center, plus he shared his vision for the center’s future. A moving, exciting talk that opened many eyes in the room! Thank you, Father Eric.

Once again, we would like to extend a big Thank-You to Jay Mack and all the fine staff at Town Bank. They have made all who attended the last two months feel very
Deacon Ebel
Father Eric Nielsen
welcome.

We head to Franklin for the November CBA meeting. Our host site is Sacred Heart School of Theology, that beautiful seminary for older vocations that is one of the largest seminaries in the country! We will meet at 7:00am for some brief social time and then make our way to the chapel to be at Mass with the seminarians at 7:30. Following Mass, we will head to the cafeteria for a light breakfast and a short talk. Renee Hitt, owner of Merle Norman Cosmetics has generously sponsored the meeting for November.

Please make every effort to attend this Mass and meeting as a visible sign of solidarity we can share with the staff and seminarians during this Year for Priests.

We would appreciate an RSVP from you, if you are planning on attending this meeting, as a courtesy to the seminary for food planning purposes. So simply click this link….. mgroark@relevantradio.com and let me know you’ll attend and let me know if you’re going to bring a friend or two. The

September 2009 Networking Meeting
...at Town Bank in Hartland
The September Catholic Business Association meeting was our biggest yet! The big draw? Bishop William Callahan, Archdiocesan Administrator in Milwaukee. The meeting started on the upper level lobby at Town Bank in Hartland with a delicious array of hor d’oueveres and beverages while all
those in attendance networked and socialized. Then everyone was escorted to the large, lower level conference room to be treated to a very interesting presentation about Town Bank by Jay Mack, President and CEO. Then Bishop Callahan gave a very inspirational talk about the right relationship of business and society and how we, as business people with Deacon Ebel
Bishop Callahan
gifts, skills and talents can contribute  in a positive manner.

After the standing ovation, Bishop Callahan lead us in a closing prayer and blessing, then stayed around and socialized a bit more as we were excused back up to the upper level lobby for additional spontaneous socializing for another hour or more! Everyone agreed that this was a powerful, important evening of networking, prayer and talks!

We now set our sights on the October meeting of the CBA. That meeting will be held on October 15th . Our host once again is Town Bank. This meeting is to be held at the Elm Grove branch of Town Bank at 13150 Watertown Plank Road. Not only has Town Bank generously offered their facility for the meeting, but they are sponsoring the meeting as well! What a beautiful, generous gesture to help promote this Catholic Business Association! The meeting is a Business After Hours event that will begin at 5pm with networking and then move into the presentations and featured speaker at 6pm. This month we are blessed to have Father Eric Neilsen of St. Paul’s Catholic University Center in Madison. When that was announced at the September meeting several members in attendance exclaimed what a great program that should be!! Be sure to RSVP and reserve yourself a spot…..and please invite a friend. This group exists for all. You don’t have to own your business or be a CEO, any Catholic in the workplace is welcome (even non-Catholics are welcome!!)

So feel free to click this link to RSVP…. mgroark@relevantradio.com
And if you have any questions about the Catholic Business Association, sponsoring an event, hosting a meeting, please feel free to contact Michael Groark at the above link or Michele Grall at mgrall@relevantradio.com

About the Catholic Business Association

Humble Beginnings
The Relevant Radio Catholic Business Association was started in Spring of 2008 at the prompting of local Catholic business people who desired a place to pray, network and engage in business to business activities with other Catholics.

An advisory team of Relevant Radio advertisers was pulled together to share ideas on what would be ideal networking for Catholics. Relevant Radio
would like to thank the following team members for their input, valuable time and dedication to this very worthwhile effort!: Philip Sliwinski - Catholic Knights, Dick Magliocco - Exhibit Systems, Jim Goetter - The Floor Mart, Michael Groark, Paul Lubinski - Neighborhood Communications, Gary Vogel - The Open Hearth Restaurant,  Tom Czech - Summit Investment Management and Jim Palzewicz of Action Coach International.

We are pleased to announce Peter Giersch, Managing Director of Cathedral Consulting as a new advisor on our team. Peter has experience building Catholic/Christian business associations in his work with Legatus and the National Bible Association. His firm does management consulting for small businesses and non-profits. They have offices in Milwaukee, New York and Charlotte. Peter is a member of the Milwaukee Downtown Rotary Club and sits on the board of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra.  Welcome Peter!

Special thanks to Dick Magliocco of Exhibit Systems, whose continuous promptings of “I wish we had a networking group for area Catholics,” spurred us forward!

Please pray for the continued success of the Relevant Radio Catholic Business Association. Now, more than ever before, Catholics in business need to support each other, building relationships in a prayerful environment.
St Joseph the Worker, pray for us!
